Our Veterinarians

Dr. Jennifer Jones

Veterinarian

Dr. Jones is a Sedalia native. After graduating from Smith-Cotton High School in 1993, she attended the University of Missouri-Columbia. She graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in May 1999. Dr. Jones returned to the central MO area in 2008 and opened Advanced Pet Care of Sedalia in 2009.

Dr. Jones’ particular areas of interest include surgery, oncology (cancer), diabetic management, arthritis care, diseases of the thyroid, and other challenging medical diseases.

Dr. Jones resides with her husband and children in Cole Camp, MO. She has two dogs, Nina and Chip, and a cat to complete her family.

Dr. Aaron Criss

Veterinarian

Dr. Aaron Criss is from the Chicago suburbs. He was homeschooled through high school, after which he attended and graduated from Benedictine University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He moved to Columbia, Missouri, in 2012 to attend the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. After he graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2016, he joined the Advanced Pet Care team. His special special interests include dentistry and challenging internal medicine cases. Dr. Criss enjoys living in Missouri with his wife, four children, and their Pointer mix, Tolkien. Hobbies they enjoy together include hiking, camping, and reading books.

Our Staff

Amy, CVA-1, Receptionist

Amy, a Certified Veterinary Assistant, CVA-1, is a Sedalia native who joined the Advanced Pet Care team in 2009. Amy enjoys working alongside her husband on their farm, raising cattle and growing crops. Amy, shown here with Abby and Artie, is one of the friendly faces who will greet you at the front desk. Amy is also responsible for all the great Facebook posts you enjoy on our page daily!

Amber, Veterinary Assistant

Amber joined Advanced Pet Care in 2023. She was raised in the Sedalia area. She is living her dream of working in the veterinary field. She enjoys spending time with her family (human and furry) and reading and caring for her plants. She is shown below with Sarge (Great Dane), Opie (Mastiff), and Lydia (Terrier mix).

Sarah, RVT

Sarah, RVT, shown here with Moose, moved to Missouri from Colorado in 2017 with her husband and their cat, Freddie. She has an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology and has worked in animal health care since 2004. She enjoys spending time with her small flock of sheep and chickens.

Jenni, Receptionist

Jenni joined Advanced Pet Care in 2016. She is one of the friendly faces at the front desk. Born and raised in Sedalia, she lives here with her husband, Faron, their three dogs, Rita, Franklin, and Benelli, and their two cats, Gabby and Cheddar. Jenni enjoys fishing, thrifting, and being with her family!

Adrianne, receptionist

Adrianne joined the front desk staff at Advanced Pet Care in 2023. Adrianne resides in Sedalia with her husband, children, and grandson. They have two dogs, Lord and Truman.

Bailey, RVT

Bailey, an RVT since 2012, joined Advanced Pet Care in 2020. She loves to work with all the furry animals, especially the babies! She grew up on her family farm in Smithton, MO, caring for cattle, pigs, chickens, and their cats and dogs. She currently resides in Otterville with her husband and children.

Amber, RVT

Amber, a Registered Veterinary Technician, joined Advanced Pet Care in 2014. She enjoys surgery, medical procedures, and patient nursing care. Shown below with Shardik.

Abbi, Veterinary Assistant

Abbi has been with Advanced Pet Care since 2022 as a Veterinary Assistant. She loves working with animals and spending time with her husband and three dogs.

Zoey, Veterinary Assistant

Zoey joined Advanced Pet Care in 2022 as a veterinary assistant. She is following her dream of working with animals. She has four dogs: Rocky (pictured below), Boss, Oz, and Cracker.

Medina, Practice Manager

Medina became a part of the Advanced Pet Care team in 2022 as Practice Manager. She compliments this established group of animal care professionals with 20 years of experience and a strong motivation to serve this team and community. Medina enjoys spending time with her husband, Greg, their children, grandchildren, and her abundance of four-legged family and friends.

Abbey, Kennel Assistant

Abbey joined Advanced Pet Care in October of 2021 and would like to attend college to become a Veterinary Technician. She was pictured here with her cat, Bean.

Grace, Kennel Assistant

Grace started working as a kennel assistant at Advanced Pet Care in 2023. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and six dogs: Lady (shown below), Gunner, Bella, Milo, Cooper, and Sadie.
